Thanks to players and parents for participating in June summer basketball. We’ve had a great level of commitment from a number of players in all grades. The July schedule will be up soon. Enjoy your time off and we hope to see you on July 14. By the way, we can still use a couple more volunteers to drive/chaperone at both team camps.
Here is information for the Univ. of Michigan Shootout on Saturday, June 21. WE WILL MEET AT CRISLER ARENA IN THE TUNNEL. Crisler Arena is located at 333 E. Stadium Blvd., Ann Arbor 48104. Some games will be played at Crisler and some at the Intramural Bldg., which is a short drive from Crisler. We will need drivers to get the players from one site to the other. The 10th/9th grade group will meet at 8:45am, with game times at 10:00, 10:50, 12:30 and 1:20. The 12th/11th grade group will meet at 9:15am, with game times at 10:50, 12:30 and 2:10. We will then go to a tourney format for both teams with games at 3:30, 4:20, 5:10 and 6:00, depending on how we fare. Each team will play 5 or 6 games. There is not enough time between games to leave and get meals, so you may want to pack a lunch/dinner and some snacks. Water and Gatorade will be provided by U-M. Hope to see you there.
With the end of school just around the corner, here is some information regarding summer basketball. Our schedule for June can be found on the practice link. Our format will be similar to the past few years in that we will be divided into two groups, with seniors/juniors (and some younger players) in one group (12th/11th) and sophomores/(incoming) freshmen in the other (10th/9th). We’ll go for two weeks in June and will then come back on July 14, and go for three weeks, concluding on July 30. We will go four days a week for most of the summer weeks and we’ll practice/play mostly in the evening hours (from 4:00pm on).
Both groups will play some games during the summer and both groups will go to team camp in Gaylord. The 10th/9th group will go July 20-23, and the 12th/11th group will go July 27-30. Team camp will be by invitation. There will be a fee to play in summer games (to cover entry and referee costs), as well as the team camp. More information will come regarding fees. For team camp, we have reserved some additional hotel rooms, and a couple parents have offered to drive and chaperone, but we could use more help.
Finally, for our incoming freshmen, there are still spots available for our individual camp. Please click on the individual camp link for info.
